Electronic Sway Control for Electric Trailer Brakes

There’s nothing worse than experiencing trailer sway, whether it’s caused by large gusts of wind, semi trucks passing by, or having to swerve to avoid an accident.

The Tuson Sway Control (TSC) is the most intelligent electronic sway control system on the market. Our patented asymmetric system (independent left and right side braking) continuously monitors trailer yaw, rapidly identifies a trailer sway condition and applies braking force on one side of the trailer, directly counteracting trailer sway with minimal speed loss and greater stability control. Each TSC comes with a wired red/green LED light to show the functional status of the unit with different flashing modes for diagnostic troubleshooting and is designed to be mounted on the trailer in an easy to see location from your tow vehicle mirrors. The TSC is wired directly into the trailer braking system and automatically adjusts to improve braking effectiveness, and even detect off-road towing conditions. 

Fastest Activation and Reaction Time

The TSC measures the angle, travel distance and speed of the lateral motion of the trailer and uses this information to quickly get ahead of the event and apply the brakes on the correct side of the trailer.

Reduces and Quickly Corrects Dangerous Trailer Sway

It has been proven through a series of tests with several major automotive manufacturers that the asymmetric system (left and right side independent braking) is far more effective that symmetrical braking systems.

More Effective than Mechanical Hitches at Reducing Sway During Large Sway Events

Mechanical sway controls have inherent limitations on how much sway they're able to reduce. Smaller amounts of sway can be controlled, but our testing showed little reduction for larger sways. The TSC excels at reducing large sway events,reducing sway by over 33%.

Trailer Sway Brake Level Auto Adjustment

Closed-loop sensory feedback allowing the system to independently increase or decrease the right and left side sway control braking levels to compensate for variances in trailer brake condition/efficiency.

Automatic System Disable in Off-Road Conditions

The module continually monitors the sway sensor to detect and activate during trailer sway. It also is able to determine rough terrain during which it disables sway control braking until exiting the rough terrain at which time the system re-enables

Fully Sealed Water Proof

The system is fully sealed and water proof. It is designed to withstand water from road spray and can even be submerged for short periods of time

LED Status Light

RED/GREEN LED light on a 10 foot cord for mounting in an easily seen location to show the functional status of the unit with different flashing modes for diagnostic troubleshooting.

How it Works

  • The TSC continuously monitors trailer yaw.
  • It has a proprietary algorithm which is used to determine the difference between quick steering to avoid a road obstacle (or other such circumstances) and the rapid onset of a trailer swaying event.
  • It measures the angle, travel distance and speed of the lateral motion of the trailer (and other parameters) and uses this information to quickly intervene with the application of trailer brakes.
  • The processing capability of the TSC is powerful and rapid. It captures all the critical elements of the swaying condition and uses this information to predict how the event will proceed without any driver intervention.
  • It uses this data to get ahead of the event by applying the brakes on the correct side of the trailer, in a timely manner, with the proper braking level for the required duration.
  • This quickly dampens and brings the trailer sway under control.

    WOW! Fantastic product.

    We decided to upgrade our camping trailer with a Tuson Sway Control system to help mitigate trailer sway in preparation for a Country wide trip. So far, we've travelled 5,000 KM in every possible conditions; hilly roads, windy flats, mountain ranges all across Canada.

    The product works just perfectly and keeps the trailer where it should be.

    Installation was a breeze and performed under 2 hours.

    Not to hard to install

    I purchased my TSC 1000 for my GeoPro 15TB. It was probably overkill, but I'm hoping it gives me a little more piece of mind during travel. The installation instructions are all very clear and the customer service was VERY helpful and easy to communicate with. I'm 73 y.o. and getting under the trailer to run the wires wasn't easy, but I was able to do it as long as I took my time. I'd guess it took me about 4 to 5 hours of actual working time to complete the installation. I've only test driven with it so far but it seems to be doing the trick.

    HIGH EXPECTATIONS

    After reading all the reviews, I was sold. Like most, I've had serious sway issues with an older tilt trailer that also had axles moved to the rear for operational integrity and like another review, it affected the sway. My new trailer is a single beam Aluma which will not accept most anti-sway hitches. I've thought for a long time, since I own an auto harness manufacturing company, that an electric system was the answer. This is it. The rational behind the system makes perfect sense. Will be installing within the week. As the review title indicates, I have high expectations.

    Works great!

    The Tuson Sway Control TSC-1000 is a fantastic product. Tried several different ways to totally control sway, including the a very popular hitch that you tighten chains on, and this is the only product that completely works.

    We did the balance thing with more tongue weight, full fresh water tank, a lot of weight under the front bed, no weight distribution spring bars to transfer as much weight as possible on the tongue, and a very tight friction sway bar, to get it manageable, but stuck to the slower back roads. With this TSC-1000 added, with sway under total control, we can drive on the main highways and interstates with much more peace. We highly recommend this product.

    Installed and Tested

    I bought my TSC-1000 in January with the intent of installing it myself before we headed down to Palm Springs on March 1st.
    My truck (Ford F150) towing my Snow River 246RKS has always been suceptible to swaying from crosswinds and even from other vehicles passing me. Going to higher tire pressures and switching to 10 ply truck tires made a small improvement, but I found myself having to slow to 50mph often if conditions were not calm. My theory was that my tail heavy rear-kitchen model had its axles slightly more rear set to get the right tongue weight (900lbs on a 7000+lb trailer). This leaves a more than average distance between the wheels and the hitch, so a crosswind will push front of the trailer and therefore the back of my 5500lb truck quite a bit.

    Anyway, the installation went well due to the excellent instructions, and we were "well tested" towing down I5 in some extremely windy and wet conditions.

    The TSC-1000 performed beautifully, as I could feel it correcting side-pull on the truck. I'd say my steering wheel corrections were reduced by about 75%. Enough that I did not have to slow down nearly as much as before. Once I got more confident in how the system was working I could relax with one hand on the wheel most of the time.
